Though food and nutrition can’t cure viruses, eating a nutrient-dense diet can ensure you are getting the vitamins and minerals your immune system needs to stay strong. Be sure to include all colors of the rainbow and make half of your plate fruits and vegetables. Supplementing your diet with Zinc and Vitamin C has been shown to decrease the duration of illness. You can find these over the counter, but be sure to check with your doctor before taking any new supplements. Make sure to hydrate! Aim for half your body-weight in ounces.

1 large carrot, peeled
2 tangerines or 1 large orange
6 ounces fresh orange juice
1 tsp chia seed
6–8 ounces plain yogurt
3 to 4 dates, pitted
½ tsp Cinnamon
½ tbsp grated ginger


  1. Peel the carrot and oranges.
  2. Place carrot, oranges, and juice in a blender.
  3. Blend until a thick juice is formed.
  4. Next add your chia seeds, yogurt, spices and ginger
  5. Pour and enjoy!
